Riverside State Park Trails Day with REI (Trail 100)
Join Riverside State Park and REI on June 14, 2015 from 1- 4:30 pm (registration at 12:30 pm) to rehabilitate RSP Trail 100, a critical access corridor that runs through the Riverside State Park Equestrian Area. This trail offers spectacular views of the Spokane River and downtown area.

The trail is the only single track thoroughfare from TJ Meenach Bridge to the Bowl & Pitcher area. In order to eliminate mountain bike traffic on equestrian trails and connect downtown Spokane to the Bowl & Pitcher recreational area, Trail 100 will officially be designated a multi-use trail once the service project work has been completed.

Volunteer crews will be doing a myriad of trail work from brushing back, widening tread, reinforcing eroded areas and cleaning up garbage and debris. Approximately half a mile of trail is in need of serious repair and will benefit from volunteer support on this Trails Day.

With such a wide variety of work, volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. The first 130 volunteers to register will receive the coveted REI volunteer t-shirt. After the work is done, Riverside State Park Foundation will provide food and refreshment for all volunteers.

It's a great way to become familiar with a popular Spokane recreation destination. Dress for the weather, bring a reusable water bottle and prepare for fun!  You will be asked to fill out a liability waiver for Riverside State Park, the event organizer, at check-in for the project. Parking will be available at

No Discover Pass is required at the project. Also, this project can count towards 24 volunteer hours required to earn a FREE Discover Pass. Log on to discoverpass.wa.gov and look under "Exemptions" to find out more.
