Young Engineers - Architecture
This survey will be used as a reference by students to build a dwelling to balance the following design factors:
1. how effectively the dwelling can remain cool when outside temperature is high
2. how liveable (relative quality of life for resident(s) (amount of light and/or ventilation for example)
3. environmental sustainability - based on engineering design and choice of materials
4. carbon footprint - balancing all above factors in a way that is environmentally optimised.
5. scientific method, using evidence-based procedures to investigate, guide and improve design outcomes
In addition to providing a design reference for students, the survey results will be used by teachers as a grading reference to help assess how well student designs match perceived community preferences.
