Currier Island is a small tropical land mass with less than 5,000 extremely athletic and jaw-droppingly attractive inhabitants. Currier Island is less a country and more a state of mind.  It exists, no doubt, but its sheer metaphysical power has long overwhelmed its shifty geographic identity.  

Currier island is that quiet place that exists inside us all: that place where there are no laws, no money, no police and no problems... just the spirit of the game. Currier Island has a proud history, a beautiful flag, and excellent marks in Global Competitiveness Index subcategories such as literacy, standard of living, and rule of law.

For present purposes, be informed that CI fields a competitive international pick-up team. We are the home for people without homes—or, in many cases, for people whose homes suck and want better homes.  Of course by ‘home’ we mean ‘team’. Each year the team that represents Currier Island will add to the country's history/tradition.Currier Island can never make it to the semi-finals, but they will bring excitement and fun to the Championship :-)

If you wish to bid for Currier Island Citizenship, please fill out your player information on the "Player Info" sheet below. We are currently assembling a Currier Island Grand Masters team to compete at the WCBU 2015 competition in Dubai, UAE (March 8-15th).

Our goal is to put together a CI team that will not only play with other Currierians, but will also reach out to party and play with players and teams from around the world. We will be looking for outgoing, fun, energetic Ultimate players who can not only hold their own on the sand, but at the parties as well. In determining the team we will be looking toward geographic and social diversity, indomitable spirit, and a love of Beach Ultimate.

Unfortunately due to the stock market crash of 1929, the dot-com bubble bursting in 2000, the housing crash in 2008, and the coconut famine of 1642, the Currier Island treasury has been greatly depleted. Those wishing to partake in this World event will need to be able to cover their own expenses, including but not limited to:

Player Fee: $200/€145
Team Fee: $700/€520 (apportioned among team)
Kit: ~$100/€75
Accommodations: starting at €40/night (~7 nights)
Flight: into DXB or DWC airports
Food: dinner for two costs less than Dh200 ($54; €39)
Transport taxi ride in city Dh125 ($34; €24)
