Volunteer Event: Community Cookout (6/25/16)

Each summer, the Chicago Lights Urban Farm hosts a community cookout. We are looking for volunteers to fill specific shifts for our upcoming cookout on June 25. Volunteer shifts begin at 10:30 am and continue through 3:00 pm. Volunteers can register for one or multiple shifts, depending on their schedule.

Saturday, June 25, 2016
12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. (Food served beginning at 12:00 noon)
Chicago Lights Urban Farm (444 W Chicago Ave)

Bring your friends and family to the Urban Farm for food, seasonal activities, and live music. Lunch will be served from the grill and will use ingredients from the Urban Farm. While you’re at the cookout, be sure to stop by the
Farmstand and check out the Urban Farm’s harvest of fresh veggies

Set-Up [3-5 Needed] (10:30 am - 12:00 pm - Includes general Farm beautification, Setting up Tables/Chairs, and Setting out Food, etc.)

Griller [2-3 Needed] (11:45 am - 2:15 pm - Set-up grill, prepare food to be grilled, cook food on the grill and bring food to serving area)

Food Server: 1st Shift [3-5 Needed] (11:45 am - 1:00 pm - Set-Up food at serving area, serve food to cookout guests, clean as you go)

Greeters [2 Needed] (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Greets guests and volunteers as they come into the Farm. Answers general questions about the event)

Food Server: 2nd Shift [3-5 Needed] (1:00 pm - 2:15 pm - Serve food to cookout guests, clean as you go, clean-up at the end of cookout)

Greeters [2 Needed] (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Greets guests and volunteers as they come into the Farm. Answers general questions about the event)

Tear-Down [3-5 Needed] (1:30 pm - 3:00 pm - Includes cleaning up the Farm, breaking down tables/chairs, clearing and disposing of food, moving the grills, etc.)
