Conference Theme
Structures of Violence: Engaging the Public Imagination

This daylong conference will engage attendees in the evolving tradition of public sociology. Public sociology is situated on the borderlands of academia, activism, and policy, reaching beyond the audience of professional sociologists to more directly engage public discourses, political and institutional change, and social empowerment. This year's focus will explicitly engage structures of violence as stated in the conference theme above.
