RECRUITING TRANSLATORS & INTERPRETERS WSF-Montreal2016
BABELS (http://www.babels.org)  will be a partner for the organisation and implementation of simultaneous interpreting at the World Social Forum Montreal 2016. MORE INFO =  www.fsm2016.org
The working languages to be covered by Babels will be ENGLISH, PORTUGUESE and SPANISH, and we will be working FR as the pivot language.... The equipment used will probably be a full booth for the main room and tour guide-style microphones and headsets for the other rooms. Spiders  ( https://sites.google.com/site/interpretationspider/ ) will be used for smaller language groups. Our priority is to recruit local interpreters if possible,  to minimise transport costs and environmental impact. This includes those living in neighbouring countries. We may also need to recruit around 15 interpreters from abroad (East and West Africa, Europe...), if we are unable to identify enough local talent.

The requirements for translators locally then abroad are:

*  PROFESSIONAL or VERY EXPERIENCED
*  With the combination EN <> FR and/or EN <> ES
*  Available from March until August (a huge number of those would be selected as interpreters for the WSF - if not professionals, they would have a three days training

For those living locally, it should be possible to include some of you if your level is a little lower and/or you speak other languages.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE AS A VOLUNTEER, please fill out the below form. We will contact you shortly.

NONE OF THIS INFORMATION WILL BE USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE THAN SELECTING VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS EVENT AND THE COLLECTED DATE WILL BE DESTROYED AFTERWARDS.
What are the languages you master? What are the languages to which you translate to? *
Are you interested in being at the mailing list of volunteering translators if you only select interpretation? *
Are you available for a three days training before becoming an interpreter for the WSF? (this question is for students and people who never have done this task) *
