It Takes a Mentor! Thank you for your interest - Please complete the application by Friday, February 6th.
Goals:
We would like to connect students with faculty and staff members to create an environment for mentoring opportunities between faculty, staff and students. Mentors & Mentees can participate in four pre-arranged activities focusing on leadership skills, self-advocacy, and networking. You are also encouraged to meet with your mentee 2-3 times throughout the semester to engage with the student about their college experience and career interests.
Why Mentors are so important:
A recent study co-commissioned by Gallup and Purdue University polled over 30,000 college graduates to ask how their experience at university affected their lives. 22% of graduates who indicated they had a faculty mentor were three times more likely to report that they were "thriving" in both their career and personal life, and twice as likely to have found a career in which they felt "engaged by their work."
