Propose a new series with Lever Press
Thank you for your interest in Lever Press, a new, peer-reviewed, open access, digital-first pathway for scholarship in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Lever Press publications are "platinum open access," which means that there is never any expectation that authors or their parent institutions should pay to make their work freely available. This is made possible by financial support from over 40 liberal arts college libraries that believe in supporting a new model extending the impact of academic books and supporting new forms of digital scholarship.

Lever Press represents a departure from traditional academic publishing's business models, and we strive to innovate with our content as well. We seek forward-facing scholarship to guide our path and we ask you to think creatively about new ways of presenting scholarly work. We are especially interested in publishing work aligned with the mission and ethos of the liberal arts college tradition; blurring the lines between research and teaching, embracing the deep interdisciplinarity that can be found in smaller academic communities, and driven by a deep commitment to social engagement.

At this time, we are soliciting proposals for new publication series at Lever Press. Series editors must be active members of the scholarly communities at Lever Press pledging institutions (you will find a list on leverpress.org). The proposals will be shared with our Oversight Committee and Editorial Board and we will pursue a select number to progress to the next round of discussion and development. Successful series proposals will provide thoughtful and complete answers for all sections of the submission form.

Should you have any questions, please do contact us at info@leverpress.org or via Twitter @lever_press.
