Vendor Application - @WeAreDTLA
ARTISTS, ARTISANS, & CRAFTSPEOPLE! APPLY NOW to be considered for one of the events produced by Edgar Varela and Melissa Richardson Banks of @WeAreDTLA.

For the MOST impact and possible inclusion in our marketing, BE SURE TO APPLY NOW. We are working with LA LIVE on a major marketing campaign. In addition to our own extensive networks through Downtown Muse, EVFA and WeAreDTLA, LA LIVE will be promoting our events on their Facebook/Twitter/Instagram sites; through LALIVE.com (10k daily visitors); LA LIVE e-newsletter (sent to 65k subscribers); and eblasts sent to other lists (e.g., AEG 10k subscribers; Regal Cinemas 35k subscribers, STAPLES Center 750k subscribers). LA LIVE is also doing print and digital advertising with Downtown News, LA Weekly, LA Magazine, LA Canvas, and more plus sending targeted emails to local DTLA residential buildings and other subscribed sources.

We've curated over 20 events for LA LIVE since August 2014, including POPUP Marketplace and Downtown Dark Nights, which each drew over 15k-25k attendees within five or six hours.

WHO CAN APPLY: We want local art and artisan vendors who personally MAKE and/or DESIGN their own handcrafted, handmade goods that are independently distributed and sold. For some events, we also have room to accept up to 8 mobile retail trucks (sorry, no food trucks). Our preference is that all goods are made in Downtown Los Angeles or the greater Los Angeles area.

NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: Anyone who sells edible items, manufactured goods, or items made from a source other than the vendor. At this time, we are also not accepting vendors who sell vintage or contemporary furniture, vintage fashion unless repurposed, contemporary clothing sold in any major retail stores. For anyone else, we will accept your application and notify you for an event that does allow these exceptions.

Applications for our very limited vendor spaces are reviewed, selected for consideration on a first-come, first-serve basis, and then juried into acceptance for this event as well as future ones.

For each vendor, L.A. LIVE will provide FREE access to power, FREE parking for one vehicle, placement of a designated 10x10 space to sell in an area that is lit as best as possible, one 8' table, up to two chairs, and coverage via a garden umbrella or a canopy, depending on their assigned location. The cost is only $200 payable to L.A. LIVE on the night of the event via cashier's check or cash.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF VENDOR AGREEMENT *
The following items, collectively “Terms & Conditions,” constitute part of this Application: “Vendor” refers to any participant approved for a selling space, “Applicant” refers to any individual or company applying for a selling space, “Venue" refers to L.A. LIVE, “Producer" refers to CauseConnect, and “Event” refers to either Downtown Dark Nights or POPUP Marketplace at L.A. LIVE. By completing and submitting this online application for review, the Applicant agrees to the following Terms & Conditions if accepted: (1) Each accepted Vendor will receive a space to sell art and artisan goods during one designated Event (2) The Venue will provide free parking for one vehicle, access to power, placement of a space for the Vendor to sell in a designated area that is lit as best as possible, one table, and two chairs. (3) Each Vendor is responsible for supplying ALL other needs, including, but not limited to, additional lighting, electrical cords or power strips, and display fixtures. NO additional space, materials, Wi-Fi, fixtures or accommodations will be provided by the Venue or the Producer, unless requested and approved by the Venue. (4) No projected film, sound or audio, or freestanding signs are allowed unless there is written advance permission by the Venue or Producer. (5) All Vendors must display their merchandise in a clean, presentable manner on tables, racks, display stands or other methods approved for use by the Venue and the Producer. (6) Applications are reviewed by the Producer and the Venue. Approvals are based on a variety of factors, including the type of merchandise being sold or services being offered. Artisan vendor spaces are assigned by the Venue and the Producer. (7) All approved Vendors must conduct business within their assigned space (e.g. 10’x10’) as there is zero tolerance for vending or distribution of literature by strolling through the Venue without prior written consent by the Venue and the Producer. (8) Approved Vendors may share a space ONLY if all Vendors are approved to participate in the Event by the Venue and the Producer. Each application will be reviewed and approved separately and the Venue and the Producer reserve the right to refuse any application for any reason. Vendors may not resell the space or sublease the space to other Vendors. Once a Vendor Application is approved, paperwork required by the Venue and the Producer must be completed and returned no less than five days before the Event.
 CANCELLATION POLICY: *
Once Applicant is notified of his/her acceptance (via email), he/she is eligible to participate as a vendor and must complete all paperwork required by the Producer and the Venue. Vendors may cancel a reservation ONLY if they notify the Producer by the Monday prior to the booked date in question.  Booking is cancelled if required paperwork is not received five days before the Event. Vendor agrees to set up and break down the assigned selling space in a timely manner so that the Vendor is ready to sell when the Event opens to the public and does not close until the Event ends. Vendor may not break down space before the Event closes unless approved by the Producer. The Vendor agrees to conduct in a professional manner as to not bring Event into ill repute. The Vendor agrees to abide by rules set forth by nearby businesses, local government officials, and the Event. Vendor may be asked to leave the Event for any reason as the Event sees fit. Any vendor selling in the State of California must obtain a seller's permit (formerly the California Board of Equalization and now the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration or CDTFA). Permits are usually issued at little to no cost. Register online at https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/services. The Vendor will be responsible for filing his/her own taxes at tax time and paying to the State of California any and all sales tax collected.
RISK OF LOSS, INSURANCE & INDEMNIFICATION *
Vendor assumes sole risk of loss, theft or damage to any merchandise and other personal property while such property or merchandise is in Vendor’s space or on the Event premises or being stored by Management as provided below.  Vendor acknowledges that neither Management nor the owner of the Event nor the Producer assumes any responsibility to ensure the safety or to protect Vendor’s merchandise from loss or damage caused by fire, rain, theft, malicious mischief, accident or any other cause.  Vendor acknowledges that Vendor has been advised to purchase insurance to protect against these and other losses.  Vendor agrees to indemnify and hold Management, the Producer, the owner of the Event and their partners, directors, officers, shareholders, managers, employees and its agent harmless from any liability damage, cost or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs) arising from (a) Vendor’s use of or activities in or around Vendor’s spaces (s) or the Event premises and/or (b) injury to persons or property resulting from any cause whatsoever including, but not limited to, any furniture or fixtures in Vendor’s Space, or from Merchandise, other property or other items sold or exchanged by Vendor.  Vendor assumes full responsibility for all transactions and merchandise that the Vendor offers for sale.
