2016 AutoZone STEM Camp Application is due June 19, 2016
Are you up for a fun, fresh and hands-on week in all things STEM?


The AutoZone STEM Summer Camps, co-hosted by the Memphis Library Foundation and the West TN STEM Hub located in the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis, will be offered to teens in Shelby County in July 2016.

AutoZone STEM Summer Camps offer high-school students the opportunity to gain valuable experience, make friends and explore careers. These week-long camps offer hands-on experiences and team activities that will feature engineering problem-solving challenges and robotics activities.  Participants are immersed in science, technology, engineering and math education while focusing on college and career preparation.

Library staff and STEM Ambassadors, some of the top engineering and technology students from the University of Memphis, will lead the camps. This team brings big ideas, knowledge of cutting-edge STEM training and extensive experience in K-12 STEM skill development.

The Summer 2016 Schedule is:
* July 11 - 15, 2016    Cordova Branch Library, 8457 Trinity Road, Cordova, TN 38018 (For high school girls and boys)
* July 18 - 22, 2016    Raleigh Branch Library, 3157 Powers, Memphis, TN 38122 (For high school girls)
* July 25 - 29, 2016    CLOUD901 in Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38111 (For high school girls and boys)
* July 25 - 29, 2016    Downtown Cossitt Branch Library, 33 S. Front St., Memphis, TN  38103 (For high school boys)

Each camp meets from 9:00am - 1:00pm each camp day.

Following the 2016 AutoZone Summer STEM Camps, participants will be invited and encouraged to participate in follow-up events, networking and leadership opportunities, including tours of local businesses, invitations to additional STEM learning opportunities and meet and greets with STEM entrepreneurs.
