Math Writing Entry #2
This week's math writing exercise will require you to recall how to compute and interpret quotients of fractions. If you are not already, this assignment will surely help you to master how to divide fractions. The response to this writing exercise is due Friday - January 29, 2016 by 6:00pm. Please take the time to brainstorm your response on a separate sheet of paper and then transfer what you have written in the appropriate response box below. If you make a mistake submitting your entry, please submit it again using the same link above as multiple entries are allowed. You may also use class time to work on any math writing entry for the rest of the school year. Talk to Mr. Robinson during Nutrition and Movement if you have any questions and make sure you talk to him ahead of time and not the day of.  Utilize your notes, online resources, and your CORE Math text book to help you succeed in these mathematical writing exercises. What is your name?
You have 2/4 of a pizza and you want to share it equally between 2 people. How much of the pizza does each person get? As a part of your 2-3 paragraphs please explain the standard algorithm you would use to solve this problem. Remember Mr. Robinson's way of setting you up for success, " To divide fractions you multiply by...... " In your response please also explain the parts of a fractions and the parts of a division sentence. Try your best to restate the questions accordingly. Feel free to make connections to the Arts, Environment, and Agriculture.
