Okay…so we begin the journey of getting to know Jesse and Ruby. They have both been a little elusive, but now I can see that something fascinating's going on here.

Why do you think Ruby’s feeling so conflicted about her feelings right now? *

Ruby lives in a town that fosters dreams and she finds the work that she does quite shallow. She’s seen many stars rise and fall and so far she’s resisted getting involved with anyone. “Fame” continues to terrify her but Jesse’s stirred her interest enough that she might be prepared to step out and take a risk for him.

Ruby’s avoided getting involved with anyone because it doesn’t fit with the orderly direction that she sees her life taking. She knows that she’s on the cusp of cracking it and getting her dream job and a liaison with someone like Jesse is likely to mess that up.
