Organiser Problem Solving
To be an organiser at this session we'd like to empower you to take command a situation and use your problem solving skills to quickly solve a problem that might arise. Below are five different scenarios and we'd like for you to pick THREE of them to solve. Keep in mind that such problems often require you to make a judgement call so use your creativity to come up with the best quick fix.
1. Lunchtime rush
It's lunch and the line for food is too long, people need to eat in the allotted time and want food as soon as possible, what do you do?
2. Delegate concerns
A delegate says they can only sleep in the same room as someone they know because they have high anxiety and they would feel very uncomfortable otherwise, what do you do?
3. Organiser conflict
A situation is being handled by another organizer and you think of an alternative solution which you think suits much better and will take the same amount of time in the end but require less manpower, what do you do?
4. Evening chaos
You find out in the morning that an evening activity has to be replanned because the materials were forgotten and cannot be retrieved. You have typical Team Building materials and an aula but limited time, what do you do?
5. Printer problem
In the middle of the night the printer stops working while you are printing resolution booklets, what do you do?
