When the editors of a high school newspaper ban their racist mascot after an Indigenous mother raises serious concerns, school admin forces them to use it. In a district that claims their 80-year old tradition honors Native Americans, community allies rise against a pervasive status quo to educate where the school will not and inspire a change of heart.
The R Word Producer and Director seeks a strong and independent candidate to join our documentary production team to support our summer productions and transition into post-production. The intern will assist our production process by tracking research, completing transcripts, coding footage, organizing production documents and other administrative tasks as supervised by the Producer/Director. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in independent documentary producing and arts administration. Opportunities to join documentary shoots depend on technical skills and internship performance.
A 10 week commitment is required to earn a credit in the film.
Required Skills
