2016 SCVS 365 Application
This application is to teach at SCVS 365 during the summer of 2016. Please review the SCVS 365 teaching requirements below carefully before submitting this application.
SCVS 365 virtual school teacher requirements:
Application Process: Apply for a SCVS 365 teaching position and attend one of the following informational meetings: March 14th (4:30pm-5:30pm) or March 16th (6pm-7pm) at Longwood Elementary School Campus. (these dates need to be chosen for this year)
Training: All teachers, new to teaching virtual school, must complete 10 hours of paid online training through Florida Virtual School and face-to-face training at Seminole County Virtual School prior to the start of SCVS 365 instruction.
Workload: The workload and compensation is based on the number of students assigned to a teacher who successfully complete the course. There is a minimum, ideal and maximum number of students identified for each course and based on this number, the work hours and compensation will vary. Class loads are dependent on student requests and are at the discretion of SCVS administration.
Work hours: SCVS 365 teachers not currently employed at SCVS will be required to work at the Longwood Elementary School campus during the first few weeks until SCVS administration is satisfied that the teacher has the technological skills to work independently off-site and every Wednesday throughout the summer. Work hours are 7.0 hours from Monday – Friday between 8am to 8pm, however, hours may vary depending on workload.
Work Weeks: There will be a 7 hour on site training day on Tuesday, May 31st. Summer semester begins June 1st and ends Aug 2nd , however, teachers may be eligible to continue to work with students beyond the 8-weeks to complete students and earn the completion supplement. This is at the discretion of the SCVS administration.
Compensation: Compensation consists of a base salary and pay for each student that completes your course. Below is the salary scale used in 2014 for your reference.

Completion Supplement:
- Level A Course(s): $62.50/completion Math & Science
- Level B Course(s): $20.00/Completion Driver’s Ed
- Level C Course(s): $50.00/completion All other courses
B. Student Loads – based on instructional needs
- Level A Course: 16 minimum, 40 ideal, 64 maximum
- Level B Course: 50 minimum, 125 ideal, 200 maximum
- Level C Course: 20 minimum, 50 ideal, 80 maximum
Minimum = # of students enrolled to schedule course
Ideal = target for scheduling purposes
Maximum = highest permitted enrollment
