You are being invited to participate in a research project by Chasah West and Dr. Dedria Givens-Carroll from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This study will be conducted to determine what relationship dimensions are deemed most important by students.  You were selected to participate in this study by taking choosing American universities with significant international student populations.  I expect to be work on this study for approximately three months and will collect data from at least 400 international students.  

You will be asked to answer the questionnaire in full, and truthfully to the best of your ability.

You are under no obligation to participate in this research, it is your choice whether to be a part of the study or not. You may decide not to be a part of the study and even if you have accepted the questionnaire and have begun to fill it out you may stop and leave the study. Just submit the unfinished survey. There will be no bias or penalty from your university or the University of Louisiana at Lafayette if you decide not to participate or if you decide to stop participating in the research.  

There is no particular benefit to you if you participate, but the researchers may learn what helps the universities connect with and communicate better with international students. This project may allow important research to be done for international students in the future. The major risk to you is inconvenience in having to take the time to fill out the survey and reflect upon your relationship with your university.

No personal information about any of the people who were included will be part of any reports. The forms you are filling out today will be destroyed after all the data has been entered into analysis. This consent form is not attached to your survey answers, so we will not have your name on file with your survey.
