Program Information
The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board Strings Instruction Program is offered through Community and Continuing Education. The Strings Program provides an opportunity for children enrolled in grades 3 to 8, attending HWDSB schools, to learn to play the violin or cello.  Strings is a fee-for-service program.
Lessons are taught in the students’ home school once a week during the instructional day.  Lessons may occur during regular class time, nutrition breaks, lunch or at Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School on Wednesday evenings.
Orchestra program is an additional opportunity to enhance your child's skills beyond the regular lessons.
The weekly lessons are ½ hour each in length. Orchestra lessons are an additional one hour of instructional time each week.
INSTRUMENTS ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST!
FREE MUSIC BOOK!  All students will receive an instructional music book at their own level to use and keep!
Winter and Spring concerts—All students are invited to showcase their musical accomplishments during each of these performance opportunities.

Your child's registration will be complete when your payment has been received at CCE Red Hill Learning Centre.  You will be contacted by email in late September 2017 with your child's individual lesson information:  day, time, location and instructor.
