Indian Peaks Alers Officer Nominations
It is time to elect new officers for the club. We will start nominations in October, and run elections at the January 2020 meeting.

Duties performed by officers are listed below each title. Important notes regarding officers:
* The term of an officer is for two years, beginning 1 Feb and ending 1 Feb in even-numbered years.
* Club Officers shall meet at least twice a year as determined necessary by the President.
* Newly elected officers will become trainees immediately following the elections and will remain trainees until their terms commence on February 1st. Trainees will attend all officer-related functions in order to learn the responsibilities of the position they are going to fill.  
* An officer may hold the same position for at most two consecutive terms, however there is no limit to the amount of terms that an individual may hold the same office.
* Any officer may resign at any time by giving written notice to the president or to the board of directors.
* Directors may be appointed to the board by the President with approval of active Board of Directors. Appointed directors may be responsible for specific tasks or events. All are expected to help determine the goals and direction of the club.

Nominator *

President
Main voice of the club, preside at meetings, prepare agendas and meeting places, establish committees. Specifically: The president shall (i) be the chief executive officer of the corporation and have general and active control of its affairs and business and general supervision of its officers, agents and employees; (ii) preside at all meetings and events of IPA ; (iii) establish meeting time and places; (iv) prepare meeting agendas; (v) establish committees for special projects or events; and (vi)  perform all other duties incident to the office of president.
Vice President
Key assistant to President, filling in where needed.  Responsible for all club-owned equipment. Specifically: The vice-president shall assist the president and shall perform such duties as may be assigned to them by the president or by the board of directors.  The vice-president shall, at the request of the president, or in the president’s absence or inability or refusal to act, perform the duties of the president and when so acting shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions on the president.  The vice president shall be responsible for storage and/or maintenance of IPA property including, but not limited to the following: club-owned brewing equipment, club-owned brewing ingredients, draft equipment, wood casks and any other club-owned item(s).
Treasurer/secretary
Responsible for all financial affairs, collecting dues, maintaining membership roster, custodian of all official club records. Specifically: The treasurer-secretary shall (i) be the principal financial officer of the board of directors with general responsibility for the oversight of the financial affairs of the corporation including collection of dues and  revenues and payment of expenses; (ii) present financial reports to the board of directors as the board may request from time to time; (iii) keep the minutes of the proceedings of the members, the board of directors and any committees of the members or the board; (iv) see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these bylaws or as required by law; (v) be custodian of the corporate records and of the seal of the corporation; and (vi) in general, perform all duties incident to the office of treasurer and secretary.
