April 20th: Social Writing
Join the Teaching and Learning Center and the Graduate Center’s Digital Fellows for a workshop on Social Writing, scheduled for Wednesday April 20, from 1-3 pm in room 9207 of the CUNY Graduate Center.

In this workshop we will discuss what it means to “write socially” in college classrooms. Practices of social writing are now more accessible (and perhaps even necessary) than ever, and this workshop will explore numerous classroom applications. During this session, we will engage in both digital and analogue social writing experiences, learn how to evaluate and implement digital social writing platforms, and discuss implementing tools like Social Paper, Mozilla Etherpad, Google Docs, and even Twitter hashtags in classroom settings for a range of disciplines and course levels.

This workshop, organized in collaboration with the Graduate Center’s Digital Initiatives, is the last one in a series of workshops on approaches to Educational Technology. Previous workshops dealt with social reading and teaching with web-based technologies.
