CBC Business & Rights Connecting with Communities - Registration
We hope you will register to participate in CBC B&R's upcoming "Connecting with Communities" session. Our focus will be Working With Indies: A round table conversation between new and emerging independent producers and the CBC staff who work with them.

Date: Friday March 2, 2018, 3:30PM - 4:30PM at The Regency Ballroom of the Lord Nelson Hotel, 1515 South Park St, Halifax, NS B3J 2L2

Our topics will include:

1. Who’s Who?
- round-the-table introduction of the people in attendance, starting with local and visiting CBC staffers
- review of what attendees would find most helpful to discuss
 
2. What is CBC up to?
- Overview of CBC’s programming genres and the many exciting platforms CBC now uses to bring Canadian content to our audiences, including the newly re-launched CBC player www.cbc.ca/watch
 
3. What happens if my show is picked up by CBC?
-  overview of CBC’s development and production processes and cycle (for content destined for digital platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, CBC.ca, and/or television and/or radio)
- development budgeting and what rights CBC takes in development
- walk through of the pickup process (creative greenlight, financing discussion and deal negotiation)
 
4. Other Opportunities for consideration: Curio.ca and Panora.tv (coming soon)
 
5. Wrap up and Questions.
 
After the session, all attendees will receive a follow up email with:
a) resource list  of who to contact for different types of inquiries:
b)  links to the sites discussed, and
c) an exit survey and opportunity to provide additional feedback.
