Virginia and the Creation of the Constitution Webinar Registration Form
The writing of the Constitution marked the birth of our nation and its government.  This webinar examines the story of its writing and ratification process.  Using maps, broadsides, political cartoons, historic documents, and other primary sources, students will learn about the political context surrounding the Constitutional Convention of 1787. An analysis of various paintings of the Convention will encourage students to formulate conclusions about the event’s impact on our nation’s history. Additional topics include the ideals and important documents that influenced the Constitution, important Virginians that contributed to its authorship, the components of the Constitution, and the three governmental branches.

The program is designed to be either a classroom presentation, or a content building professional development program. It was designed with an eye to the state and national standards for grades 4 through 12, and the content would be appropriate for a general audience.

While not specifically designed for renewal points, I am happy to provide a letter certifying attendance to all that take part, and your administration may grant those points.

The webinar will air on September 16, at 2:00 EST. Upon registration a link will be provided.
