2017-2018 Youth Program Aid- North Fair Oaks Youth Initiative

The NFOYI Youth Program Leader (YPL) is for 12 to 14 youth members who want to give back to the program by providing support to the SYC Coordinators, Assistant Director and Director of Programs. YPL will learn management skills, human resource skills, leadership skills, event planning and problem solving skills in various areas. Interns will be learning and helping our programs grow by sharing energy and insight on all the projects we do as a community program.

Schedule - Youth Program Leaders will have to attend all of the following:
 - AVAILABILITY - BE ABLE TO SERVE A MINIMUM OF ONE DAY A WEEK  (4pm to 8pm and occasional weekends)
 - Some Fridays, 4pm to 8pm (Food sales and fundraisers)
 - Some Saturdays/weekends, timing varies (Events, special activities or trainings, field trips, conferences)

Work responsibilities
 - Lead the planning and implementation of the NFOYI leadership program
-  Run classes after school for middle school youth
 - Create agendas
 - Facilitate staff and NFOYI meetings
 - Manage information and materials (i.e., forms, attendance)
 - Lead set up/clean up for all meetings and events
 - Mentor middle school youth to be productive and self sustaining members of the community
- Attend North Fair Oaks Council meetings, Redwood City Council meetings and some Board of Supervisors meetings
 - Follow all Siena Youth Center rules and policies

 - Youth development knowledge
 - Writing in English and Spanish
 - Creating agendas
 - Computer Applications - Microsoft Word, Excel, Prezi, Canva, Google Applications
 - Event planning and logistics
 - Mentorship

 - Dedicated to and passionate about the North Fair Oaks community, the Siena Youth Center mission, and the NFOYI program goals
 - Demonstrates leadership of peers
 - Excels at motivating others
 - Creative in planning activities for youth
 - Strong and consistent communication skills
 - Attention to detail
 - Reliable and committed to the program and work schedule
