BDAthlon competition - IWBDA 2016
BDAthlon is a programming contest, in which teams are given a set of programming challenges and then work to solve these challenges as teams. This is based on similar programming contests in the design automation community (http://www.sigda.org/programs/cadathlon). Judges will examine their solutions and award prizes to the winners at the close of IWBDA.

Teams are composed of 2-3 people. Preference is given to graduate students but postdoctoral and undergraduate student members can be permitted. Preference is also given to those that have not participated in the BDAthlon in the past and those that have participated in IWBDA.  BDAthlon questions will be from the following five areas, and created and graded by a subset of the Technical Program Committee:

   - Specification and design
   - Assembly and build
   - Simulation and verification
   - Standards and exchange
   - Data and storage

The contest itself will start at 8am and go until midnight, on August 16th 2016.  Teams can use that time however they see fit. Nothing before that time or after this time will be accepted.

Five teams will be selected by a subset of the Technical Program Committee 3 weeks after application submission. Selected teams will receive a travel stipend. Registration to IWBDA is also included. For 2016 the stipend is up to $1000. The stipend will be used to reimburse travel costs at the conclusion of IWBDA and teams must provide evidence of travel costs. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of IWBDA. The winning team will be awarded a certificate(s) along with a cash prize of $500. The travel stipend (one per team), the registration (each team member) and the cash award (one per team) are provided by the “Living Computing Project”.

***Each team member should email his/her CV to bdathlon@bio-design-automation.org and teams should fill the form below.***
