Essay Question 1 (max 500 words) *
Why do you consider yourself to be a strong candidate for the Ukrainian Youth Delegate to  the United Nations program? If selected as a Youth Delegate, which youth issues would you  lobby and why? What follow-up activities would you  organize in Ukraine to foster youth participation? (max 500 words). Essay Question 2 (max 750 words) *
In his recent remarks at the General Assembly, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon  highlighted youth as a UN priority for 2015. Despite that, youth has not been included in the  draft list of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will shape the framework of action  for governments, private sector organizations and grassroots organizations for the next 15 years.  Keeping in mind that youth is an issue that cuts across multiple disciplines, suggest several ways  in which you would lobby youth priorities* within the existing SDGs framework. (max 750  words)  Some additional background information on SDGs process is provided by following the links  given below:  *http://www.un.org/youthenvoy/ (4 priorities)  http://www.un.org/youthenvoy/2015/01/unsecretarygeneralnotedyouthunpriorities2015/  https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/focussdgs.html. We strongly advise to write the essay Questions in advance and after copy them in the field below.
Essay Question 3 (max 750 words) *
In fall 2015, during the 70th UN General Assembly a new document on SDGs will be  adopted. This document will define a framework for how governments, private sector  organizations and grassroots organizations are to cooperate in order to ensure a more sustainable  and equal environment for all.  Please follow this link for a description of the existing Millenium Development Goals (MDGs)  and SDGs: http://citiscope.org/story/2014/comparing-mdgs-and-sdgs  In comparison to the MDGs, what is your opinion on the comprehensiveness of the 17 draft  goals of the SDGs? Are there any goals or targets you would like to add to the draft document? If  so, what are they? In your opinion, what are the possible gaps in the new draft document? Please  provide at least 2 arguments that support your answers to each of these questions.
