Winter Workshop Registration
Workshops may be canceled due to low enrollment.  
There is no aftercare charge if your child is picked up after their class.
There is no charge for care before a class.
Care after a workshop will be billed at $25 per day.


If you've paid for aftercare in full for the year you will receive a $5 per workshop day credit.
($40 per 8 week class).

- Yoga

Yoga is a fun, healthy, educational, challenging and noncompetitive activity that most children really enjoy.  We live in a fast paced world and kids are faced with growing anxiety and pressures.  Yoga can teach children how to relax while stretching their muscles, improving balance, coordination, and concentration.  This class will provide children with an opportunity to use their imagination and body to build strength, confidence, and calmness.  Oh, and it is fun!  

Each student will bring his/her own yoga mat each Monday for class



-Aviation

Extreme Flight

Explore the fastest, farthest and biggest things in aviation and venture into realms beyond the atmosphere in a fast-paced, hands-on adventure in flight!  Master the four forces that make air travel possible while building and flying small model aircraft.  Take to the flight simulators and learn to fly modern and vintage airplanes, some drifting almost in a hover across the sky and others at supersonic speeds.

Harness Newton’s laws of motion to construct and launch a water-powered rocket.  Investigate aeronautical charts and launch a flight simulation across open water to a remote destination.  Explore composite aircraft construction while making polymer slime, model tornadoes and other weather phenomena and more in a thrilling adventure amid the clouds.

- Publishing Club

Serendipity School is looking for writers, and artists to create this year’s Serendipity Magazine. Students in this class will learn how to write, design, print and publish beautiful newsletters right from their desktop computer. Using computer software programs including Pages, MS Word and Comic Life students will collaborate to write and design and publish this spring’s school newsletter, The Serendipity Magazine.

 - Digital Monkey

Digital Monkey School’s mission is innovative art education, promotion of art and
independent development of video games and animation. During this session with
 Students will also learn and develop their own 3D game levels in the
exciting strategy based maze game Atmosphere.

- Crafting

During this 8 week workshop, your child will create hands-on art projects
through a variety of different and fun supplies.  He/she will be exposed to
gluing, painting, sewing, wrapping,weaving, beading and more.  

At the end of the workshop, your child will have a collection of craft items which will be cute enough to decorate your home.  Have your child come and join in the fun!

 - Build & Design a Skateboard!!

Each student will receive a complete skateboard kit including:
- 2 decks
- Trucks
- Wheels
- Bearings
- Skate tool
- Grip Tape

Students will design their own decks with graphics and stickers, and learn how to build and maintain their board.  Students will get to keep their projects when completed!


 - Beginning Ukulele

*** Ukulele Included (Students will keep after class) *****

During the beginning Ukulele Class students will:

* Learn traditional strumming techniques
* Learn "Hawaiian music vamps" in all keys
* Work on singing and playing traditional Hawaiian songs
* Work on Pa'Ani" (Hawaiian word for soloing) on Ukulele
* Learn finger picking techniques
* Learn chords & chord progressions

Thursday Classes
 - Running Club

Ms. Sasha invites you to join the Cross Country Running Club! You will become a better runner and will have fun doing so! No experience needed. All you need to bring is a change of clothes, sneakers and a good attitude!
Students will be learning how to correctly warm up and cool down, how to apply various running strategies, and how to make healthy choices. Our goal will be to complete a 5K by the end of our workshop.

Students will have to opportunity to participate in the Race to Zero 5K on March 21st, which is a great opportunity for friends and family to come show their support.


- Mad Science

Mad Science is all about sparking your child’s imagination through scientific discoveries.
From bugs to outer space, science can be found everywhere! Children are delighted and
excited when they learn to explore and experience the scientific world around them
through our lively, hands-on science programs. Delivering science through fun
provides great activities for children in the Bay Area, and it also reinforces many of the
concepts they are learning in their classrooms.

 - Dance

During this workshop, students will learn basic dance steps set to a choreographed routine complete with props and costumes! The final class performance will be open to friends and family and will be filmed for those that cannot make it.

Ms. Amy has been involved with dance since she was 3 years old and has danced with the S.F. ballet and has competed in competitive cheerleading.

- Baseball / Softball

In the Baseball/Softball eight-week clinic, I will teach the proper
breakdown of the swing, from the grip on the bat, finding the potential
energy from the transfer of weight, contact point, follow through and
finishing the swing. I hope to unearth the power held in each student,
but most importantly to instill the proper hitting techniques to ready
the student for their upcoming season.
In those eight weeks we will also cover throwing over hand, learning to
catch the ball in front of their eyes and how to properly field ground
balls and fly balls.

Ms. Sonia has been coaching a playing softball for many years and is currently the Junior Varsity Coach at Half Moon Bay High School.
