February 2015 Student Workshops Offered byTILT
NOVA Alexandria Technology Innovation in Learning and teaching (TILT) is offering the following training sessions this month. Student workshops will meet in Bisdorf Building Room AA334 unless noted in the description.  Students workshops are 30 minutes long.

Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (ROOM AE 206)
Learn how to use spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Google Scholar
Learn how to navigate Google Scholar to find academic articles that are peer-reviewed and appropriate for your research papers.
Chrome Apps for Students
Google is a lot more than just Webmail and the Drive.  Come see what tools Google offers that could help you succeed in school.
Cloud Storage
Learn about Cloud storage, a way in which data is maintained, managed and backed up remotely and made available to users over a network (typically the Internet).
Microsoft Word and Google Docs
Learn how you can maximize the use of these word processing tools.
ThingLink
Be creative and make your flat images interactive and dynamic!  Make your images come alive with video, text, images, shops, music and more! Every image contains a story and ThingLink helps you tell your stories.  Imagine using this creative tool to present projects for class in a unique way.
Glogster
Glogster is a digital canvas that allows you to mix text, audio, video, images, graphics and more from your files.  There are also pre-designed graphics you can use.  These digital posters are another great way show what you know in class.
Microsoft Access in Room AE206
Learn the basics of Microsoft Access, a database management tool.
PowerPoint and Google Slides
Learn how you can maximize the use of these multimedia software tools.You will create, narrate, and animate slides!  You will also learn how to embed video, links, and audio files.
Windows 8
Learn how to navigate Windows 8. Microsoft's newest operating system.
