Penguicon Track Head Application
Thank you for your interest in running a programming track at Penguicon!

Running a track is a great way to get involved! We want staff to have a blast with tracks, but this is a real commitment – our tracks are what make Penguicon the awesome community event it is – so please consider if you will have the time and energy to do this job before you apply!

Track Head Duties

*Generates a list of ideas for programming in the track area, including panels, workshops, demonstrations, and solo talks.  Asks the community for programming ideas, connections related to the track area, and possible presenters. Invites successful presenters from previous years to submit new events

*Invites other people to participate on panels. Works to get track-related local organizations involved  (enthusiast groups, professional groups, related online forums)

*Communicates with panelists in the track area; collects contact information, a paragraph for the program book, needs for panel spaces, and budgetary needs.  Communicates all information about panelists and on all aspects of the track area with the Head of Programming

*Suggests Featured Guests in the track area, and submits them to Head of Programming for approval.  Gathers a bio and photo of Featured Guests and helps to plan their events

*Spreads excitement for their track via social media, in concert with Community staff.  As a member of the Penguicon staff, you would be a representative of Penguicon to the world at large, and would be expected to keep this in mind any time you conducted business on behalf of Penguicon, or even if you are just talking about Penguicon

*Attends Programming meetings.  Attends Penguicon and oversees track as needed. The Food track has additional on-site responsibilities!
