HELPS Buddy Program Terms & Conditions
*  By accepting these terms & conditions I am confirming that I am 18 years old or older.  (Any participant who is under 18 years of age should contact the HELPS Volunteer Coordinator).
*  I will abide by the online Buddy Program Guidelines and the UTS Code of Conduct.
*  I will attend a HELPS information session before I begin meeting with my student buddy.
*  I agree to my name, email address and details from the above registration being given to my HELPS student buddy.
*  I understand at certain times in the semester it might take longer to find a buddy.
*  I agree to meet my Buddy for a minimum of 6 meetings on UTS premises and understand that the HELPS Buddy Program insurance only covers me while I'm at UTS.
*  If the meetings continue outside of this agreement they are no longer considered to be part of the HELPS Buddy Program. I understand UTS will not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of my participation in this program.  I take responsibility for my own personal safety and responsibility for my belongings.
*  I understand the Buddy Program is for conversation practice.  (It's a good opportunity to talk about university assignments to help clarify ideas, but it is not a buddy’s responsibility to edit written assignments.  This may be in breach of the university’s plagiarism policies.  For help with writing, students should come into the HELPS centre and talk to our Academic Advisors).
*  I agree asking someone to wait for longer than 15 minutes in case of delay is considered unreasonable.  (At the first meeting consider exchanging phone numbers, though only if agreed by all buddies).
*  I understand certificates will be issued to volunteer buddies at end semester after recording meetings and completing the online evaluation.  Certificates are not issued to students taking part to improve their English speaking skills.
*  If I cannot continue with my Buddy meetings, I agree to notify my buddy and the HELPS Volunteer Coordinator.

Any concerns or queries can be directed to the HELPS Volunteer Coordinator.
Good luck with your Buddy meetings and thank you for being part of this wonderful program!
Do you accept the HELPS Buddy Program Terms & Conditions? *
You cannot register with the program unless you accept.
