RSVP for April 29 Dinner and Discussion: Peter Liang and the rift between Black and Asian communities
Join SCRWP for dinner and a discussion, in response to the April 15 sentencing of NYPD officer Peter Liang. Peter Liang is the first NYPD officer to be convicted of killing an unarmed Black man. Many in the Asian-American community believe he is being scapegoated for other police officers' killings of Black civilians. Join Students Confronting Racism and White Privilege for a discussion centered around the idea of Black and Asian-American relationships. Why is there a rift between the two communities? What can we do to resolve this tension and bring the two communities together in the fight against racism?
