Hello! My name is Mansi Shah, and I am one of the Educational Coordinators for SENDforC Inc.
Support, ENcourage and Develop for Children, Inc. (SENDforC) is an Award-winning 501(c)3 Charitable and Educational Nonprofit Organization. We aim to provide outstanding student-driven K-12 STEM research initiatives and educational programs to foster entrepreneurship among youth and to solve tangible community issues. Piloted in UC San Diego with a partnership at Crawford High School, we are looking to create a UC Berkeley chapter. This is where you come in.
We are looking to further expand our team with passionate individuals who can help us in our efforts in contributing locally while impacting globally.
Positions: We are looking for 2-3 people to join our Operations team to participate in external and internal organizing in order to set up a strong foundation for our UC Berkeley Chapter.
Time Commitment: Expected 5-10 hrs./week, considerable freedom (Summer and Academic Year)
Associated Team(s): Operations Group: reporting to Educational Coordinators and COO
Status: Volunteer, NPO eligibility
Qualifications:
We encourage individuals with diverse backgrounds, interests and skillsets to apply for this position!
1) Over the age of 18 with at least a high school degree.
2) Must be a UC Berkeley student.
3) Relevant experience in education or service is preferred.
4) Able to succeed in a fast-paced collaborative team setting and bring appropriate skillsets to attend to responsibilities listed below.
Responsibilities:
— Considerable freedom granted to create a polycentric student organization with SENDforC Inc. guidance and support as needed.
— Assisting in the development of a strong infrastructure for our chapter via community outreach and partnerships, relevant curriculum and assessment methods.
— Invited to Parent Group nonprofit digital meetings and reports on updates of the region.
— Keeps track of active members, ensures status of educational programs, recruits founding group for student chapter, links relevant student officers to the Parent Group Team and communicates with other SENDforC regions bimonthly.
— With the other present SENDforC University members, drafts governance workflow for student chapter and mission statement for the student constitution. Will be sent to SENDforC Inc. for review and sponsorship decisions.
