Medway Public Schools Strategic Plan:  Strategies' and Initiatives' Feedback
Last year the Medway School Committee intiatied a Strategic Plan development process.  The School Committee enlisted the support of Future Management Systems, a consultant group, that helps public and private entities design a vision for the future.  With a clearly articulated strategic plan, organizations are better able to leverage resources to plan for the future.

The Medway Public Schools' Strategic Plan process formally began at the end of June 2015, and has continued throughout the fall/winter with Strategic Planning Steering Committee members representing staff, administration, town leadership, community and families.  The focus of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee was to  find answers to the question, "What do you value?" when it comes to supporting the next steps for our school system.

To answer this question, various public forums took place with participation of the community, students, district employees and educators, and appointed and elected officials.  In addition, a survey was conducted to gain feedback from constituent groups.  More than 1,000 participants shared insights, suggestions, hopes, concerns, and questions during this public participation process.

Future Management Systems supported the Steering Committee and leadership teams to analyze the data collected during the forums and through the survey in an effort to identify trends that would eventually evolve into the 2016-2019 Medway Public School's Strategic Plan Goals.  During a School Committee meeting on January 21, the first step of this plan, identifying the Strategic Plan Goals, was approved (see below).

At this time, we are looking for additional feedback on the proposed strategies and initiatives that have been identified to meet the approved goals.  Each strategy may help to achieve multiple goals.  We have indicated the goals to which each strategy is aligned in parentheses next to the strategy.

This is the public comment phase of this work.   This form is being used to collect your feedback on these PROPOSED strategies and initiatives.  Realizing that these are broad statements, we ask that you please review each strategy and associated initiatives and offer feedback to help strengthen our plan.  Following your feedback, we will be working with various constituency groups to create individual action plans for each initiative.  The final document will include specific action steps with links so that these action plans will be detailed as they are developed.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights.

2016-19 Strategic Plan Goals
These goals were approved by the School Committee at their January 21 meeting and will serve as the foundation for the Medway Public Schools Strategic Plan.
Strategies and Initatives
This next section of the Strategic Plan will help describe the work that will be done to accomplish the goals.  Linked to each Initiative (eventually) will be an action plan that will be developed and implemented by various stakeholders throughout our schools and community.  Embedded within these action plans will be measurements for success.

While Strategy #1 is foundational to this work, the remaining strategies are not listed in any particular order of importance.
Strategy #1 with Initiatives (aligned to Goals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
When crafting this strategy, we were trying to capture the ideal that no improvement effort can be successful without the belief system that we can all (students, teachers, administrators, families and the community at large) learn, grow and achieve more.  Do you have any feedback to offer to strengthen the content above?
Strategy #2 with Initiatives (aligned to Goals 1, 2, 3, 4)
When crafting this strategy, we were trying to capture the feedback that we received and the belief system that we have regarding the fact that our educators and leaders are the most important factors for student success.  Do you have any feedback to offer to strengthen the content above?
Strategy #3 with Initiatives (aligned to Goals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
When crafting this strategy, we were trying to capture the feedback we received about the opportunities to enhance our offerings while also ensuring that all students have experience with the most comprehensive education.  Do you have any feedback to offer to strengthen the content above?
Strategy #4 with Initiatives (aligned to Goals 1, 2, 3, 4)
When crafting this strategy, we were trying to capture the feedback we received about the necessary role that schools play in not only cultivating learners and doers, but also cultivating good people.  Do you have any feedback to offer to strengthen the content above?
