Thanks for giving us information about your Open House display. The Open House Core Committee is excited to have you as a part of Open House. Austin Krug, Student Life Exhibits Coordinator, will be in touch to provide you with details for the day. It is important that people respect the rules and guidelines for displays. Please take a moment to review these guidelines and share them with all of the individuals who will work at your display. When you are finished, please click agree. By clicking agree, you are accepting the rules, and will follow them for Open House
Rules and Guidelines
1. We must know if your group will be using electrical equipment (computers, interactive screens, etc.). Building engineers will ensure that electricity is distributed according to your needs. The actual equipment is your responsibility to provide.
2. Extension cords and power strips will be available on Saturday Morning, April 16th at the Open House Information Table (near the entrance to Bosco Student Plaza). Please note the following: cords are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will be checked out to one member of your organization and must be returned and checked in at the end of the day. A bill for missing cords will be sent to the member responsible.
3. Signs, posters, or banners can be hung from the ceiling, but it is the responsibility of your organization to put up and take down the sign. No tape or pins are allowed on the wallpapered walls of the union. Masking tape may be used on Union walls that are rock; however, the tape does not generally stick well.
4. The sale of items or fundraising at booths is prohibited.
5. Tables not occupied by 9 a.m. will be reassigned.
6. Your organization may set up its display Friday evening, April 15th from 6-10 p.m. as well as Saturday morning, April 16th from 7-9 a.m. All displays must be set up by 9 a.m., and should be in place until 3 p.m. Please make arrangements for a member of your organization to be at your display at all times during Open House. Failure to do so may result in the loss of Union space for your organization.
7. When setting up displays, keep in mind that traffic flow is always tight. We will have visitors with disabilities as well as guests with baby strollers moving through the Union. Please ensure that pathways are accommodating for these visitors.
8. Due to reduced space in the Union, chairs will not be at every table. If you would like chairs at your table, they will be available the day of Open House.
9. Sign holders will be available at the Union Saturday morning, April 16th, at 7 a.m. However, the number is limited, and reservations for these items are not taken. Please plan another way to hang your signs in the event that all signs are already taken. An easel is an easy way avoid the hassle.
10. If at any point your group decides not to participate, please notify Austin Krug (
adkrug@k-state.edu|(785) 806-5134) ASAP.
