St. Andrew UMC Vital Signs Reporting
The mission of The United Methodist Church is to “Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” (Matt. 28:18-20; Matt. 22:36-40). This mission is achieved through vital congregations that equip and empower people to be disciples of Jesus Christ in their homes and communities around the world.  Vital Signs is a tool designed to help congregations follow their progress on the goals that they set for each year, based upon the goal-setting challenge initiated by the Vital Congregations work.

Mission Outreach *
Did your activity include mission outreach?  Members of the congregation who “live out” their faith by engaging in mission outreach in the community can report that even if it is not specifically a SAUMC congregation sponsored engagement.  (e.g.  A member volunteers at the Children's Home one Saturday.  That member can report their engagement in outreach that week and we will include it in the Vital Signs numbers.)  Serving as a Board member of an organization is primarily an administrative function and should not be reported.  However, if a member actively and directly participates in a specific community outreach activity for that organization, their service may be reported, even though the member is on the Board.
Type of Activity
Suggestions could include assistance with food, Neighborhood Help Fund, homeless ministries, community meals/meetings (i.e., dinners at The Fish House, Chicken Que, meals donated to Men's & Women's Shelters), mission work days, serving as advocate for community improvements.
