Old Business Items
- Approved a resolution authorizing and providing for the calling of a bond election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the district the question of issuing general obligation bonds; authorizing application to the state board for authority to call said bond election; and providing for the giving notice of said bond election.

- Includes a $400 increase on the teacher salary schedule base, new base $34,320.
- First year teachers will have the option to receive a partial paycheck in August.
- If a teacher notifies the district by July 1st that they intend to retire/resign at the end of the following school year, the district will add $1,000 to their final year’s contract. Notification must be accompanied by a retirement/resignation letter that the board would act on at the July meeting.
- Principals will provide written feedback to individual teachers on all walkthroughs.
- Discussed the recommendation by 360 Engineers to repair the boiler. Engineers have studied the situation and believe it is in the best interest of the district to abstain from installing any type of new or hybrid system at this time - click here to read the engineers report and recommendations. Board approved the recommendation to proceed with completing the repairs.
There were questions about how the repairs would be completed with school back in session next. Mr. Wiseman indicated that he would meet with 360 Engineers on a plan for completing repairs with as little disruption as possible. A report will be provided to the Board before initiating the repair process.
Boiler followup - Mr. Coder related that boiler repairs should not create any class disruptions or noise issues. The workers will be entering through the back doors. In addition, the contractor will be required to certify that all employees on school grounds have passed a background check.
New Business
- Mr. Wiseman reported to the Board that the lighting system in the auditorium is not working and may need to be completely replaced. The Board approved the recommendation to call for bids to replace the JSH Auditorium lighting.
Lighting system followup - Mr. Coder has indicated that we may need to replace both the circuit board and control panel to the lighting system. A teleconference is being arranged with Theatrical Services to discuss the range of possible issues and solutions, along with developing a timeline for fixing the issues and if they can avoid interrupting classes during the repair phase. Estimated cost to fix is between $25,000 - $30,000.
- Approved renewal of the SERC training services agreement.
