Six out of 10 U.S. adults said they plan to vote in this year’s presidential election, according to a PBS NewsHour analysis of 1,050 respondents in an online nationwide poll launched July 13-17 through Google Consumer Surveys. But when asked who they plan to support, one-third of respondents said they preferred not to say. One out of five respondents — 22 percent — said they would vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and 17 percent said they would vote for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
