Dear 2015 HBA St. Louis chapter members,
Here we are in the month of June, which means that it is time to plan for our 2016 chapter board elections. We enjoyed an amazing 2015 thanks to our excellent leaders and dedicated volunteer members and now it is time to recruit leaders for next year’s chapter board.
We are pleased to announce the following open chapter board seats and look forward to receiving your nominations for these positions. We encourage self-nomination.
Open leadership positions for our 2016 chapter board are:
- President
- President-elect
- Vice president
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Directors-at-large – Four positions open
If you are interested in the above positions, or if you have business colleagues or friends whom you think are qualified and interested, please bring this opportunity to their attention. Download a brief description of each role to familiarize you with key responsibilities. If you are uncertain about which position would be the best fit, please forward your contact information and we will discuss all open chapter board positions with those qualified candidates.
All nominations are due by Friday, July 17, 2015. Candidates will be contacted for interviews after this date.
When thinking about nominations for the 2016 chapter board, please consider the following criteria that are important to maintain an effective and representative leadership team.
Not all nominees must have all of these attributes, but a well-rounded chapter board member will have qualities such as:
- Familiarity with the HBA, gained through volunteering and/or attending events
- Ability to commit the time/resources needed to fulfill responsibilities of a chapter board member
- Experience working in the healthcare industry
- Proven dedication/support of the HBA’s mission and vision
- Strong and demonstrated leadership, influencing and other team skills
- Energy, ideas and enthusiasm to positively influence the advancement of women
- Previous experience on a non-profit board
