Lily-Rose Depp, 16, takes part in LGBTQ photography campaign... as it's revealed she 'doesn't identify as 100% heterosexual'

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis has been revealed as somebody who doesn't completely identify as a heterosexual person.

The revelation about 16-year-old Lily-Rose Depp came as photographer iO Tillett Wright captured her as part of his Self Evident Project, which identifies those who fall somewhere on the vast LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) spectrum.

A photograph of the teen model was unveiled on the photographer's Instagram page on Sunday, showing her sat on his back in a stylised snap, in front of a blank black background.

Along with the portrait, he wrote: 'I'm so proud of my baby girl @lilyrose_depp. She decided she wanted to be in @selfevidentproject because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn't be happier to welcome her to the family.

'She's a tiny gem of a good human. #prouduncle #weareyou.'

So far, she is the 9,958th person to take part in the campaign along with other 'people in the USA that identify as anything other than 100% straight'.

The revealing photograph of the young star - who was earlier this year unveiled as the face of French fashion label Chanel - comes after other another famous face took part in the activist's series of artwork.

Last year, British model Cara Delevingne, who has openly enjoyed romances with both men and women and is currently dating female singer St. Vincent, took part in the project.

The 23-year-old posed in a snap with Tillett Wright himself, while wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the campaign's slogan We Are You.

Her own admission came in October, a few days after National Coming Out Day, and along with the photo she wrote an open message.

'Doesn't matter who you are or what you believe it, we are one! Go get yourself one of these shirts right now!' she said.

'I'm late for National Coming Out Day but better late then never. Don't be scared to be who you are. Please follow @iolovesyou and @selfevidentproject because #WEAREYOU.' 

She also posted a picture with the message, 'I am who I am, your approval is not needed.' 

The Self Evident Project, created by Tillett Wright, is described as 'a photographic record of 10k people in the US who are ANYWHERE on the LGBTQ spectrum'.

The mission is to get the 10,000 pictures of those who can't define themselves as heterosexual; those who fall somewhere on the wide-reaching range of sexuality, with the final collection being collated for a huge installation.

On his website, Tillett Wright says he intends to erect a fixture with every single one of the portraits on it, ideally in front of The Washington Monument and in 2016, ahead of the next presidential election.

His aim is to put an end to discrimination against those whose sexuality lies within the LGBTQ spectrum and 'erase the boundaries' within the community.

The image of Lily-Rose - who has shot to fame in the past year as she makes her mark on the modelling world, away from the canopy of her famous parents - comes as she was seen posing for pictures with model Stella Maxwell, the girlfriend of singer Miley Cyrus.

The snap, posted on Victoria's Secret model Stella's Instagram page, shows the two cuddling for a photo in front of a sunset backdrop.

Earlier this year, in July, Lily-Rose was overjoyed as she shared the news she was to become the new face of Chanel.

The excited star posted her happy news on Instagram: 'So excited about my new @chanelofficial campaign shot by @karllagerfeld !!!!!! Thank you.' 

Lily-Rose, the oldest of Johnny and Vanessa's two children (she has a younger brother, Jack) also added music video scene-stealer to her list of growing acting credits as the ingenue was featured in Dublin rapper Rejjie Snow's latest music video for All Around The World.

In summer, the talented teen wrapped production on her first major motion picture opposite her 52-year-old father - called Yoga Hosers - and has already been inducted into the fashion world by famed Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.
