Tiger Track Sweeps Wildcats

South Pasadena's undefeated track team outran Monrovia on Thursday.

Looking  every bit like the track powerhouse they were predicted to be, the South Pasadena track team swept to victory in both the mens and girls divisions.

The women edged their rivals  by a score of 73-54, while the boys won handily by a score of 82-54. Sweeping (taking the first three places) some of the events, the boys dominated Monrovia.

In the girls section, the final score was not decided until the final event, the high jump, which was won by the Tigers. South Pas now has the inside track to grab another the team title, which they captured last season. The meet produced some outstanding results, despite rains which doused the competitors. Defending state  champion, Sam Pons, won both races he entered, the 800 and 1600. He scratched running the 3200.
