Ask half of the group to come with content strategies (they become a content "expert") and half the group to come with a technology tool/skill (they become the tech "expert"). As they follow the speed dating format, the content expert learns different tech tools to implement and the technology expert learns content to integrate with the tools. Groups can bring the opposite next time and the content experts become the tech experts and vice versa. We think this will facilitate conversations between groups that don't think they can learn from each other. Each person gets to be an expert and a learner and no one is trying to learn content AND a tool. Each person has a voice and ownership.

Have "rolling" PD cafe sessions during conference periods to work around the before school/ after school time commitment concerns that we all face with PD.

Set this up at the district level for district and campus admin to have different conversation topics in an informal setting as a break between the informational sessions of the district admin meetings.

I would use this with groups that have already built relationships or I would alter it slightly. After dividing up the room into small groups I would give them each a different standard and ask them to create something specific like a formative assessment probe.
