GLENBURN, Maine — A special town meeting is set for later this month to authorize town councilors to spend up to $5,000 on miscellaneous fees associated with upcoming road projects.

The special town meeting is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at the Glenburn Municipal Building, Town Manager Michael Crooker said Tuesday. A regular meeting of the Town Council is set for 7 p.m.

Potential costs to be covered by the funding, if approved, would involve drainage easements and right-of-way corrections, Crooker said.

Town councilors already have awarded the following three contracts:

— Wellman Paving, $603,210, for Marston Meadow, Norway, Largay and Richards roads, Vista Lane, Vista Way, Pineview Avenue and Lancaster Lane.

— B&B Paving Inc., $748,283, Pine Hill Drive, Beech Grove Avenue, Luckey’s Landing, French’s Point Road and Charles Street.

— B&B Paving Inc., $460,921, Albert Lane, Oxbow Drive and Grandview Acres.

Crooker said that town officials also are considering two additional contracts but have yet to make a decision on whether to move forward on them.

Those would involve Beechwood Avenue, Lakeside Lane, Cedar Breeze North and AA Landing, Sandy Beach and Merryman roads, he said.

“It is possible that one, or both or a combination of both under one contract may be developed using some of the remaining roads,” he said.

The proposed improvements likely will be discussed during the council’s July 17 meeting, he said.
