The Columbus, Ohio United Methodist Church for All People (C4AP) grew out of a message of unconditional love offered through a free store and the atmosphere of hospitality it created. Deeply Wesleyan in its theology and radically non-conformist in its approach to community issues, the C4AP has catalyzed transformation of a "blighted" neighborhood into an empowered and empowering neighborhood. This cross-class and multiracial church is now a teaching center for congregations that seek to reflect their neighborhood in worship and engage their communities to bring about wholeness and strength.
Ideally suited for lay/clergy teams, lessons learned by C4AP promise to engage congregational leadership in deep and nuanced discussions about the ministry of Christ in the world, and provide practical tools for approaching ministry in your unique context particularly with the poor and marginalized.
