FEMALE PERSPECTIVE By Lucy Ngigi

“WHEN DO YOU TELL YOUR PARTNER THAT YOU LOVE THEM?”

Indeed, we are in the 21st century where women are also taking the lead.

Though being in love is exciting, telling your partner that you love him can be nerve racking and you may not know when or indeed, how to proceed. The trick to telling him the right way is finding the best time, place, and way to say those three magic words.

Saying I love you is a big step, and before you say those magic words, you need to make sure you mean it. You may be feeling infatuated and obsessed with your partner but before you tell him, you first have to know that you are in love.

Though the place you choose will not affect how your partner feels about you, it could help you deliver your message in a way that makes your partner feel more comfortable. Telling him in the right place can also help, set the mood i.e. pick a place that is special to both of you. It could be where you had your first date or where you had an incredible conversation. It does not even have to be that romantic; as long as it means something to both of you; you can also tell him when you are on vacation together. This is the perfect opportunity to take your love to the next level. Telling him while you are going for a walk through a beautiful part of your neighborhood is also a perfect time to tell him you love him. Remember Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.

Timing is not everything, but picking the right time to tell your partner you love him can help him be more receptive to your news, and can help you feel more comfortable about delivering it i.e. pick a time when both of you are in a good mood and free from stress. Do not tell him you love him if he has a big exam the next day, or he may have his mind on other things.

Your body and face should tell your partner how you are feeling before you say a word. Now that you have all your ducks in a row, there’s no more holding back, you have to know what to do next to make sure the relationship is as strong as it could be. Wishing you all, the very best as yo contemplate when to tell him. From Lucy Ngigi.   To get a male perspective on this, please see the post by my colleague Mitchell Odhiambo  http://goo.gl/gllbEj
