DIY Chain Ankle Strap for Sandals, Pumps & Flats

IMG_4602

Hi all! After countless questions on these sandals, I have put together a step by step pictorial to help you all make a pair yourself!

All you will need is a pair of ankle strap sandals, pumps or flats that have a loop for the straps to go through, some have the ankle strap portion attached so those won’t work. I picked these up inexpensively at Forever21. These exact ones are sold out but check HERE for a similar pair

You will also need chain, make sure it is no wider than the strap, (I took mine with me to pick the chain). Two lobster clasps, and two double jump rings, they are much more secure than a single jump ring

Take the straps the shoes came with and measure the chain up against it, give yourself a couple extra links to play with

Cut your chain

With a pair of jewelry pliers take you double jump ring and add it to the last link

It should look like this

Now add your lobster clasp to the jump ring

This is the final product, add them to the shoes and tighten them to whatever link you are comfortable at, then trim away the rest

Now wear them out, and be proud, you just altered your first pair of shoes! Have fun 🙂
