IA RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR APPLICATION

IA RD RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:

Develop Community:
§ Establish and develop good relationships with your residents
§ Promote a clean, and creative living environment
§ Monitor all living Spaces (physical furniture, cleanliness)
§ Keep residents informed of any Leaves of Absences and report your leaves to Housing Director

Uphold Community Standards & University Policy
§ Attend any meetings or trainings (as necessary)
§ Coordinate Move In/Move Out & Room Change processes.
§ Report physical problems to appropriate MUM Department.
§ Keep an active inventory over Dorm Items (furniture/television/entertainment & workout equipment)
§ Facilitate open dialogue, including promoting intercultural communications and conflict resolution as needed within your community.
§ Ensure compliance with community standards and issue warnings if necessary.
§ Clearly communicate University/IA policy as articulated in the Housing Agreement Form, uphold compliance with University/IA policy and promptly report any violations the Housing Department, IA Department, and/or Security.

Safety and Security
§ Clearly communicate Campus Safety policies to residents, and report violations.
§ Be familiar with all emergency protocols, safe zones, & fire equipment.

Residence Hall Director’s Essential Tasks:

1. Monitor Building condition

Repairs
Report Damages / Vandalism
Inventory furniture, entertainment, & workout equipment / spaces

2. Keep track of cleaning status of bathrooms

3. Coordinate Move In/Out rooms checks

4. Hold meetings to address any other building events or issues
