State Senator Lazich is in support of this and thinks an Eagle Scout license plate is an excellent suggestion. She is happy to draft the legislation permitting the Eagle Scout license plate.
The special registration plate costs the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) $9,000.00 to produce. The DOT will not issue a special plate until the agency has the $9,000.00 through sales of the special plate. To secure the money the agency charges $15.00 extra for each special plate requested.
To secure the $9,000.00 for a special registration plate to be issued at least 600 Eagle Scout plates would need to be purchased.
The next step toward establishing an Eagle Scout License Plate would be demonstrating sufficient interest within the Eagle Scout community to secure enough funds for the creation of the plate.
