LCD Soundsystem had been rumored to have one of the top slots after James Murphy announced the band would put out a new album this year. Pearl Jam broke news of their ‘Roo appearance on Tuedsay, when they announced a tour, which included the fest on its schedule. Dead & Co., the Grateful Dead act that includes original members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann and is fronted by John Mayer, began playing together shortly after the 2015 Fare The Well tour. They are confirmed to play two sets. Also heading down to the Farm for the 15th annual Bonnaroo are bold font names like Ellie Goulding, M83, CHVRCHES, Father John Misty, Bully, HAIM, Halsey, J.Cole, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Third Eye Blind, Kurt Vile, St. Lucia, Leon Bridges, Miguel, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Purity Ring, Vince Staples, Tame Impala, and many more. Acts like Lettuce, Grace Potter, and Rayland Baxter will pay homage to the fest’s jam band and folk-rock roots, and legendary funk act Cymande is set to take the stage. The lineup also features nearby Nashville acts, including Jason Isbell, John Moreland, and Chris Stapleton — all who both made EW’s Best Country Records of 2015 list. Sam Hunt and Southern R&B-ist Anderson East, who recently stopped by EW for a Basement Session taping, will also make an appearance. Actor and bluegrass pro Ed Helms is making a run for most ‘Roo appearances ever, hosting another Bluegrass Situation Superjam. The performers at Saturday night’s Superjam, always a surprise, have not been announced. Tickets for Bonnaroo 2016 go on sale at 12p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 22.
