The Joint Commissioner of Police, under whose jurisdiction the alleged Delhi Police assault on students protesting outside the RSS headquarters in Jhandewalan took place, has been transferred to Puducherry by the Centre.
The Ministry of Home Affairs Tuesday transferred the central range JCP Sunil Kumar Gautam. Gautam’s range included Paharganj Police station, under whose jurisdiction the assault on students protesting over Rohith Vemula’s suicide took place.

The home ministry Tuesday also transferred the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South district) Prem Nath to Mizoram. Nath was supervising the Delhi Police probe into several high profile cases including the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar, the death of the 6-year-old boy from Ryan International School and the alleged case of sexual harassment filed against R K Pachauri.
Another high-profile transfer was that of the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief Mukesh Kumar Meena to Andaman and Nicobar. In addition, 25 other Delhi Police officers were also transferred.
