Good sales
Hey I see this is a bit old but I recently purchased and had some high hopes. I’m generating a fairly simple ASP.NET MVC page with events including flyer images but the images are rendered blank in the included demo. Please Help!
Cancel that, found the updated binaries and it works fine now
Hi, Will this work for SharePoint 2010 Intranet sites? Our SharePoint requires authentication (not anonymous) will the URL Image still be created? Also, is this easy to install, do I just upload the files to webserver or a SharePoint site?
this is an ASP.NET class library/assembly, which is supported by SharePoint farm solutions. however, it does not support authentication. as it runs server side, eventually you could create a local anonymous mapping for the site or something, but that’s as far as you could go. you can try iecapt which uses Internet Explorer and add your site to the local intranet area, which would automatically authenticate you, but there’s the downside of runnig… well, IE, while this solution uses a webkit based rendering mode.
this is a generic helper class. you will need to set up a web application or sharepoint farm solution that either requests the URL or automatically sets the url (current perhaps) and just shows a link button (a demo web app is provided).
BTW, I do custom sharepoint development in case you’re interested.
Hi, yes I recognized your profile from Bind Tuning Support you helped me with. I have tried IECapt in the past but it was hit and miss, never worked properly. btw, my work intranet is stuck on IE7. I’m not an ASP developer, so I was looking for something easy and basic to install, to run on all sites including SharePoint. If you could somehow wrap this in a WSP SharePoint solution, I would definitely purchase it. Thanks.
How exactly would you want this to work? If you want to run a bulk generation of various websites and pages in order to get the images, it would be better to run a command line interface. If you want to click a button on a page and get the image then it makes sence to create a webpart. Either way, I can’t assure the solution will overcome the authentication issue by itself, so it may require some additional local configuration. Feel free to add me to skype so we can talk. I have a preliminary working version for SharePoint. I’m not sure if envato will accept it because they don’t have a SharePoint category for now, so my guess is I will sell it separately. Due to the high restrictions of it running a background process and writing to the file system, it had to be a Farm Solution with GAC assemblies. It is turn key. Just deploy and add a webpart to any page and it generates and opens the image in a new tab. Let me know if this is in fact what you were looking for. BTW I had to use iecapt due to load time issues, and no luck overcoming authentication so the site must be anonymous enabled.
Hi, I’ll download Skype and see if I can connect to you.
Envato just told me to publish sharepoint apps to the apps category while they figure out if they will add a sharepoint category. I guess I’ll add the WSP directly to code canyon and you’ll be able to get it that way if you want.

Hello Sir – If you have a PHP version that URL to PNG (compatible with Flash Sites) I am buying instantly.
Doing this for php will be tricky since it will mean having to support both Unix and Windows, but I am creating a test project and if it works without issues I will post it.
As for the output, I don’t know how far does flash support go but you can try the windows version at http://simemar.dynip.sapo.pt/IMAGE/

your demo link for url2img is href’ing to url2pdf
Like to see a demo, and if you have plans for php version
thanks for taking the time to report. I fixed the link. there is also the possibility of using the ASP.NET dropdown menu to get there, or navigate to http://tiagoduarte.pt/image. However, you will find out that in order to generate an image based on an url in real time, you will need to navigate to my dev site, http://simemar.dynip.sapo.pt/IMAGE/ which is not always available.
as for php, it’s nice to get such feedback. I’ll definitely think about that.
thanks, not sure but i didnt get notified of your reply. WIll keep eye out for php version.
