The town of Wiscasset has been awarded a Shore and Harbor Planning Grant to investigate the feasibility of establishing a boardwalk to connect the Main Street Pier and the Commercial Pier.

The study will design a Riverfront Boardwalk from the Commercial Pier to Route 1 along the Sheepscot River, thereby providing full pedestrian linkage between all waterfront access points in the village, while also expanding opportunities for sustainable ecotourism with greater access to the coastline.

To launch the planning study, the town will be seeking public input on Thursday, March 13, 7 p.m. at the Wiscasset Town Office Meeting Room, 51 Bath Road Wiscasset, at a project kickoff meeting held by the Wiscasset Waterfront Committee. The public is encouraged to attend and share their ideas for the boardwalk project.
