Rehearsals began for Broadway’s hot “Hello, Dolly!” this week, and we hear that the musical’s star Bette Midler turned up already knowing the routines cold.
Spies said Midler spent a few weeks learning the dance numbers early with some of the show’s company — before rehearsals even officially began — so that she would be ready to roll.
The show’s already set box-office records with advance sales estimated at $30 million, including first-day receipts of over $9 million.
